Learning activity details

The project aims to promote unity and harmony among nations through collective effort for addressing global issues, in collaboration with “Shout”, thus overcoming and surpassing stereotyping and making this world a better place for all. We involved maximum number of teachers and students (total 100 + teachers , students 2000 + and projects 35+) in UAE, Pakistan, Jordan , South Africa , Lesotho and Turkey, who worked on water projects to promote water theme of “Shout” for 2012 and “Smithsonian” . These projects were created by using cutting edge technology (Ms office tools, Kinect, Kudo, Windows phone etc.).All projects were based on the shout theme ‘Water Matters in 2012’, this was followed by the group’s work on Land in 2011. The project resulted in sharing of ideas and experiences to solve water problems in the world. A social network was set up at “Shout Discussion Platform” on PIL, in addition to Face book and Twitter.Students and teachers have worked together to understand, synthesize and evaluate the factors that cause water problems. Teachers were trained by the One Race; One World group members for planning and execution of different types of water projects. The projects have enlighten students about water, water cycle, water diseases, water resources, water contamination, water purification, water conservation, water as a renewable resource, water as source of energy, water and irrigation, water crises and solutions for these problems.Students will continue to work on this project to address issues related to “Air” in 2013. The group has also started to reach out to the people of other countries, then mentioned above, to involve them and share experiences with them and eventually work together.As one race we want students to address the stereotyping and work together towards Global Issues, as this is the way towards the betterment of the entire global community.
