This lesson addresses Common Core Standards for Math and Language Arts, and NASPE standards for Health and Fitness.

For Math students will gain an understanding of the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities, as well as using ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, and finding a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100.

In Language Arts, students will write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence. In addition, they will integrate quantitative or technical information expressed in words in a text with a version of that information expressed visually (e.g., in a flowchart, diagram, model, graph, or table).
