Learning activity details

The project aim is to gradually prepare the pupils from a small village for life and work in the modern society. Students learn and play through ICT with pupils from school in a big town 200km away, and learn differences about life in village and town. Than, students learn about life and work in big global cities using ICT for exploration and talking to their young relatives dispersed in the big world. This is the main theme, supplemented with lots of activities of peer learning of maternal and foreign languages etc, helping children become aware of themselves, teaching them how to present themselves to others, accept differences and envision their place in the global world (including perspective jobs that can be done online from the village). There was one pupil with special educational needs in the class, and educational activities were designed according to that. The project realization was based on cognitivist and constructionist postulates, and inspired with connectivism. The activities were executed through peer learning, students’ research work evolving into group work activities, students were learning by discovering. Planned activities based on the postulate that all kids involved in the project are “digital natives” and live in “global village”.
